04:32 pm - I need your help!
I apologise in advance if this is the wrong place to ask. Can anyone link or suggest novels/critical pieces written between 1790 and 1830 that contain elements of the Fop or the Dandy? Naturally I've been looking at Austen and 20th Century writers too - Heyer and Orzcy - but I would like to expand on this and look at pieces that aren't perhaps as popular.

Thanks, old chaps!

As I remembe from when I hecked it out of the library, this collection of essays had a lot of good stuff about fops and also dandies, and how they were created to express masculinity in their time. Its not an author contemporary to the times sadly, but still informative a a critical piece.

That looks like a really interesting book, actually - I'm writing my dissertation on dandies and naturally am looking into masculinity so it may be useful. Thank you very much!
